Riber confirms robust growth over first half of 2017

News

Revenues up 80 percent, order book up 92 percent

Riber, a maker of MBE equipment, reports that revenues for the first half of 2017 climbed 80 percent from the first half of 2016 to €12.5 million.

This strong growth in sales reflects the major deliveries of evaporators (cells and sources) in the first quarter for the photovoltaic and screen industries, as well as continued growth in sales of services and accessories over the second quarter.

In terms of MBE machines, one research system was billed during the first half of this year, compared with two machines, including one production unit, in the first half of 2016.

As of June 30, 2017, the breakdown of Riber's revenues were split Asia (57 percent), Europe (31 percent) and the United States (12 percent).

The order book as of June 30, 2017 is up 92 percent from June 30, 2016 to €16.8 million. This dynamic commercial development reflects the contribution by each business line.

The systems order book is up 76 percent, with four production machines, versus one in 2016, and three research machines, versus four in 2016.

The services and accessories order book, up 143 percent, primarily confirms the upturn in production activities of customers.

The order book for evaporators (cells and sources), up 70 percent, has been driven primarily by purchases relating to MBE machines.

Considering the level of business recorded for the first half of the year and this good visibility, Riber is raising its full-year revenue target for 2017 and is now forecasting year-on-year growth of at least 50 percent.

2017 first-half earnings will be released after close of trading on September 26, 2017.
