CST Global launches online tech forum

Website and forum focus on commercialisation of new, photonic and III V compound semiconductor technologies
During the T@CST ‘Commercialising Quantum Technology’ event in November 2018, CST Global launched the TechnologyatCST.org website, complete with a discussion forum. The focus is on commercialising new, photonics and III V compound semiconductor technologies
There are six discussion forum categories - market readiness, technology maturity, economics, industrial environment and political support. These are the same categories as those of the critical enablers for commercialisation established at the quantum event.
Industry experts have volunteered to moderate each of the discussion forum categories. They are Anke Lohman of ESP, looking after Market Readiness; Mark Western; technology sector manager for Scottish Enterprise, covering Economics; Ole Kock, technical authority – quantum sensors at Teledyne e2v managing Technical Maturity; Ronnie Smith, chief executive of Lanarkshire Business Gateway, taking responsibility for Political Support; Stephen Taylor, CEO of Technology Scotland, handling the Industrial Environment; and finally, Richard Hogg, professor of photonics at the University of Glasgow, taking charge of Talent.
Euan Livingston, VP sales and marketing at CST Global, said: “The moderators will actively participate in writing content and replying to comments on the forum. They will instigate and manage debate; keep content and discussions relevant; and facilitate debate on how the critical enablers to quantum commercialisation are tackled.”
Although the initial T@CST event covered quantum technologies, the same moderators will also cover the Array Technology event in May 2019 and the High-Power IR technology event in November 2019.

The 13th CS International conference builds on the strengths of its predecessors, with around 40 leaders from industry and academia delivering presentations that fall within five key themes: Ultrafast Communication; Making Headway with the MicroLED; Taking the Power from Silicon, New Vectors for the VCSEL, and Ultra-wide Bandgap Devices.
Delegates attending these sessions will gain insight into device technology, find out about the current status and the roadmap for the compound semiconductor industry, and discover the latest advances in tools and processes that will drive up fab yields and throughputs.
