Luminus releases compact white LED

CFT-90-WDH LEDs suit life science, instrumentation, and stage lighting applications

Luminus Devices has released, a compact monolithic cool white LED source centred around the 6000K colour temperature with a high CRI (colour rendering index) of 93.

The CFT-90-WDH LEDs are capable of being driven at very high currents (up to 27A) under both CW and PWM conditions and delivering 3200 lumens typical at 22.5A. In addition, they provide a low thermal resistance chip-on-board package coupled with a robust design and median lifetime well in excess of 50,000 hours (L70/B50).

The window-less package is designed for optimal coupling efficiency into either large-diameter fiber bundles or light engines. The CFT-90-WDH LEDs are ideal light sources for applications that include any fibre illumination that requires high colour rendering index such as medical endoscopy and other life science applications.

They are also widely used in industrial applications including machine vision and instrumentation, and stage lighting applications, and are an ideal replacement for legacy lamp solutions such as Xenon or Halogen lamps.

The CFT-90-WHD LEDs are immediately available through Luminus’ authorised distributors.

Connecting the Compound Semiconductor Industry

The 13th CS International conference builds on the strengths of its predecessors, with around 40 leaders from industry and academia delivering presentations that fall within five key themes: Ultrafast Communication; Making Headway with the MicroLED; Taking the Power from Silicon, New Vectors for the VCSEL, and Ultra-wide Bandgap Devices.

Delegates attending these sessions will gain insight into device technology, find out about the current status and the roadmap for the compound semiconductor industry, and discover the latest advances in tools and processes that will drive up fab yields and throughputs.
