Cree adds LED replacement for consumer fluorescent tubes

32W LED Tube uses up to 42 percent less energy

Cree has expanded its LED bulb portfolio with the TW Series LED T8 Tube Replacement for consumers, making inferior linear fluorescent tubes a 'thing of the past', says Cree

Designed for simple, wire-free installation, the CreeTW Series LED T8 Tube is available as a 32W replacement, consuming up to 42 percent less energy than the 32W fluorescent tubes they replace. It will be sold at The Home Depot stores starting at $21.97.

"With the new TW Series LED T8 Tube Replacement, we're not only eliminating the need for outdated fluorescent technology in homes - we're delivering a fundamentally better light with an affordable, uncompromising LED T8 tube."

Designed to look like the fluorescent tubes it replaces while providing superior illumination, the Cree TW Series LED T8 Tube Replacement delivers a 90+ Color Rendering Index (CRI) in 2700 K Soft White or 4000 K Cool White colour temperatures to provide light for kitchens, closets, garages, laundry rooms and more.

Providing high ballast compatibility, Cree's LED T8 Tube Replacement installs as a one-for-one replacement with instant start, rapid start and dimmable electronic ballasts, with no rewiring needed.
