Midsummer increases solar cell power

News

Power increased by six percent per area without increasing production costs

Swedish CIGS firm Midsummer has announced that it's increased the radius of its solar cells from 90 to 100mm. This reduces the unused area of the module from eight to just two percent, thus increasing the power (W) by six percent per area without increasing production costs.

”Six percent higher effect per area for the same production cost is a big improvement in our industry. In addition to an increased effect per area, we now have the opportunity to offer a visually more attractive product”, said Sven Lindström, CEO of Midsummer.

”With the new R100 we clearly demonstrate that our research and development department holds the highest world-class and we are investing heavily in future research with our new laboratory in Järfälla, Sweden that will open in October”, Sven Lindström concluded.
