Teledyne Technologies and Hughes Network Systems Sign Multiyear Agreement for Broadband Ku-band MMIC Power Amplifiers

LOS ANGELES. Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) and Hughes Network Systems (HNS) have signed a multiyear agreement for MMIC power amplifiers. Hughes Network Systems will purchase Teledyne s Ku-band GaAs MMIC power amplifiers for use in broadband VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) and DirecPC(R) systems.

Our MMIC power amplifiers are recognized worldwide as offering superior performance and reliability."

Hughes VSAT systems provide cost effective broadband telecommunications to a wide array of users around the world. VSATs are effective tools for LAN internetworking, multimedia image transfer, batch and interactive data transmission, interactive voice, and broadcast data and video communications. HNS DirecPC(R) is a broadband satellite service providing high-speed Internet access as well as broadcast IP multimedia applications.

Teledyne s Microwave Electronic Components business unit (www.teledynemicrowave.com), located in Mountain View, Calif., develops and supplies GaAs MMIC power amplifiers and assemblies for broadband wireless microwave and millimeter wave applications, RF filter solutions for fixed access applications, and electromechanical switches for communications, space, and defense applications.
