Tecstar And Advanced Photonics Ltd Announce A Long Term Supply Agreement On The Supply Of Epitaxial Wafers (Epi) For Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs)

TECSTAR, Inc. and Advanced Photonics, Ltd. of Shanghai, China jointly announced today they have signed a long term supply agreement wherein TECSTAR, Inc. will employ a portion of their very large GaAs MOCVD foundry to grow significant quantities of EPI wafers in support of Advanced Photonics expanding Optoelectronics device process business.
Mr. Charles Wu, President and CEO of Advanced Photonics reports, "we are pleased to add TECSTAR to our list of key EPI suppliers. Their world recognized position as a leader in GaAs MOCVD processing and their Commitment to Quality as demonstrated by their heritage in building high performance Photovoltaic and Optoelectronic devices for Space were key factors in our selection of TECSTAR to become a partner in our expanding business".
TECSTAR s Vice President for Optoelectronics Business Development, Ms. Ellen Linder states, "TECSTAR is honored to support Advanced Photonics as a part of our corporate strategy to expand our position in the Optoelectronics Market. We will employ a TECSTAR developed structure in the growth of this LED product that draws from our leadership position in Photovoltaics, but we will also employ customer unique intellectual property as required to grow other structures for other customers". Shipments of EPI Processed Wafers began immediately, also additional structures are in discussion.
