Agilent Technologies' New Family Of High-Power +13 dBm DFB Laser Source Modules Helps Reduce Test Cost In R&D And Manufacturing
Source: Agilent Technologies
Palo Alto, CA. Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced a new family of high-power (+13 dBm), distributed-feedback, (DFB) laser-source modules (81663A) that allow high throughput and cost reductions in R&D and manufacturing by bringing a set of robust testing solutions to players involved in optical amplifier test, as well as in the deployment of optical transmission technology such as dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) systems. For example, Agilent s DFB technology empowers DWDM engineers to minimize inventory costs by replacing bench-top instruments with low-cost, compact, flexible and easy-to-integrate systems with small footprints.
The Agilent 81663A DFB laser modules offer a number of benefits including:
- minimized inventory and maintenance costs with reliable, compact and easy-to-integrate high-performance systems;
- full remote control of the modules via the user-friendly and powerful Agilent 816xA VXI Plug-and-Play Driver;
- full compatibility with all Agilent compact tunable lasers, return loss and DFB source modules, single and dual channel power meters and optical test mainframes; and
- the capability of installing up to 17 DFB modules in a single mainframe and combining a virtually unlimited number of these for high-channel count solutions.
Agilent s portfolio of DFB modules covers the entire ITU grid (100 GHz spacing) in C- and L-band.
