TriQuint Semiconductor Introduces Dual Band Low-noise Amplifier for the CDMA Cellular Handset Standard

Source: TriQuint Semiconductor

The TQ3M31 Operates From a Single 3V Supply and Provides True Tri-mode CDMA Operation for Phone Handset Applications

Hillsboro, OR. TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (Nasdaq:TQNT) today announced the release of the TQ3M31 Dual Band Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) for the cellular Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) handset market (technical specifications below).

CDMA is a popular digital phone standard in the Americas and Asia, which has surpassed 90 million global subscribers. This device offers the phone designer tri-mode, dual band CDMA (IS-95 standard) operation resulting in a phone capable of operating in all geographic markets. The TQ3M31 offers the phone designer advantages in size, cost, and performance.

The combination of a small package, the need for few off-chip components, and integrated cellular and PCS band operation, enables extremely small form factor phones and lowers bill-of-material costs. The TQ3M31 has extremely low current consumption enabling long stand-by time in phone applications. High levels of on-chip integration, including mode and gain select functions allow phone designers the advantage of selecting CDMA or AMPS mode, as well as adjusting gain and current consumption. The TQ3M31 used in conjunction with the TriQuint TQ5131 and TQ5631 mixer ICs form a complete tri-mode RF receiver front-end solution for CDMA and AMPS standards.
