Showa Denko boosts epiwafer production (News from Japan)
Showa Denko will invest 2 billion ($17 million) to build an epitaxial wafer production facility at its Chichibu plant in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. The company says demand for InP devices has been surging in recent months. Due to be completed by November, the 32 000 sq. ft facility will increase the company s MOCVD-based epiwafer production by around 10 times compared to one year ago.
