Unaxis opens R&D facility in Florida (Materials and equipment)
Unaxis Semiconductors has opened a 43 000 sq. ft R&D facility, including a 15 000 sq. ft class 100 laboratory, located at St Petersburg, FL. Unaxis manufactures etching equipment for compound semiconductor processing, photomask fabrication and other applications and is a subsidiary of Swiss-based Unaxis AG. Novalux orders suite of Accent systems Accent Optical Technologies (Bend, OR) has shipped a complete suite of process control systems to laser manufacturer Novalux (Sunnyvale, CA). These systems will be employed in Novalux s recently opened class 10 clean room, which is used to process 4 inch GaAs wafers. According to president and CEO Bruce Rhine, the company is ramping up production by 400% over the next six months to keep up with a significant rise in customer orders.
