Celeritek loses GaAs orders for satellites (GaAs News)
Celeritek has lost approximately $18.5 million in orders for GaAs-based devices used in satellites. The company, which makes MMIC power amplifiers for PCS handsets, wireless local loop subscriber units and base stations, also reported that a number of its customers in the radio market have recently rescheduled or delayed orders. In light of the current slowdown in the wireless communications market, and after adjusting for order delays and uncertainties, the company now believes its order backlog stands at around $60 million, compared to $91 million at the end of last year.
