Raytheon supplies GaAs HBTs to Hyundai (GaAs News)
Raytheon s RF Components Division (Andover, MA) is supplying production volumes of its GaAs HBT power amplifier for Hyundai s TX-20B PCS handset platform. One of the largest wireless handset manufacturers in Korea, Hyundai has earmarked the dual-band, tri-mode TX-20B for the US CDMA market. Raytheon s RMPA 1951 GaAs HBT is part of a small outline PA module designed for PCS and wireless local loop applications. The agreement marks the first in a series of anticipated production orders between Raytheon and Hyundai, and is expected to boost Hyundai s share of the growing wide-band CDMA market. "This agreement further confirms our long and successful relationship with Hyundai," said Russ Wagner, vice-president of strategic development for the RF Components Division. "We feel that this agreement will help us to further expand our presence in Asia while helping Hyundai broaden its product base and market share."
