RSoft receives Navy support for software (Materials and Equipment)

The US Navy has awarded RSoft (Ossining, NY) a two year $750 000 Phase II SBIR contract to develop advanced simulation programs that evaluate fibers and components used in the design of fiber-optic links. Based on the company s LinkSIM software (see page 99), new programs will be developed and made available commercially for a wide variety of applications. The Navy intends to use the tool to design components and systems for applications such as Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet. "The LinkSIM product already enables optical communication links to be optimized, but we will be enhancing it to include sophisticated multi-mode simulations and critical analysis tools for maximum yield and performance," said RSoft s president, LuAnn Scarmozzino.
