Motorola's SiGe:C device hits market (New Devices)

Phoenix, AZ. Motorola s Semiconductor Products Sector has introduced its first SiGe-based product for the merchant market an LNA with on-chip bypass switch. Using the company s 0.35 m RF BiCMOS process, the C-doped SiGe process requires the addition of only one masking step. The MBC13720 LNA features an on-chip bypass switch to improve the dynamic range, leading to low insertion loss receiver designs, in addition to saving board space and manufacturing costs. Operating from 4002400 MHz, applications include PCS 1900 MHz cellular phones, as well as 900 and 2400 MHz ISM band designs. Production orders are expected by August. www.motorola.com/wireless-semi
