Toshiba VSAT and W-CDMA MMICs (New Devices)
San Jose, CA. Toshiba has added two new MMICs that reduce component count and lower the tuning costs of wireless applications, which include very small aperture terminal (VSAT) satellite communications and W-CDMA power sockets. The TMD1414-1G is a 1.5 W Ku-band (14.014.5 GHz) VSAT amplifier housed in a small semi-hermetic sealed ceramic package internally matched to 50 ohms. The company s first 3 W S-band (2.052.23 GHz) MMIC for the W-CDMA market is designated the TMD2121-3A. The device s high RF output power also makes it suitable as a final output amplifier for repeater and microcell applications. With 52 dBc IM3 performance in two-tone tests at a single carrier level of 17 dBm, the TMD2121-3A offers the requisite linearity for demanding modulation schemes. Mass production of both devices is expected in June (see ). www.chips.toshiba.com
