Spectra-Physics ramps up high-power laser production capacity (Opto News)
Spectra-Physics Semiconductor Lasers (SPSL, formerly Opto Power Corporation) of Mountain View, California is ramping its production capacity for high-power lasers with the installation of an additional MOCVD reactor. The company has also taken delivery of a new high-performance facet coater. The new equipment will enable SPSL to meet the increasing demand for lasers used in pumping, graphics, medical and industrial applications. The reactor will also support high-volume manufacturing of the company s recently introduced ProLite line of high-power 808 nm single and multi-laser bar modules, in addition to the development of new higher power telecom pump chips.
