Motorola supplies Beijing CATV company (GaAs News)

Motorola s Broadband Communications Sector (Horsham, PA) is to supply Beijing Gehua CATV Network Co Ltd with its Starline RF amplifier, OmniStar optical headend, and SG optical nodes. The agreement will enable Beijing Gehua to upgrade its two-way network and offer video, voice, and high-speed Internet access to around 600 000 users in the region. Motorola s broadband line extender, mini-bridger amplifier and broadband telecommunications amplifiers are based on the company s enhanced-GaAs (or E-GaAs) hybrid technology. "The superiority of Motorola s products, combined with the expertise of their technical team, helps ensure our success in this project as well as in future ventures," said Gao Fengquian, chairman and GM for Beijing Gehua. "With this robust two-way HFC platform, we will be able to provide high-speed data services with cable modem and interactive multimedia services over digital set-top boxes."
