Alpha tri-band InGaP PA module (New Devices)

Woburn, MA. Alpha Industries has introduced its first tri-band PA module employing InGaP HBT technology. The AP134 is designed for use in dual-mode wireless handsets and is compliant with General Packet Radio Service (GPRS). The new module is a fully integrated 50 ohm input/output package that incorporates a silicon bipolar logic controller. Developed for customer-specific wireless handset platforms, the AP134 is part of a family of products addressing GSM-based applications expected to begin volume production by December 2001. Operating from a 3.2 V power supply, the module footprint is 10 8 1.6 mm in a MCM land grid array type package. A PAE of 55% and output power of 34 dBm gain are achieved during GSM operation, and 50% and 31.5 dBm PAE and gain for DCS/PCS modes, respectively (see ). www.alphaind.com
