Fujitsu unveils modulator driver (New Devices)

San Jose, CA. Fujitsu Compound Semiconductor has developed a 10 Gbit/s modulator driver IC. The FMM3109PG is designed for non-return to zero operation in optical networks and features a rise/fall time of 40 ps, and measured jitter of 4 ps. The power consumption is rated at 0.5 A, and the output voltage is 3 Vpp for the modulator-integrated laser and differential input modulator. Internal termination is set at 50 ohm, and the device features a typical output voltage swing of 3.0 V and a single 6.8 V power supply. The FMM3109PG is housed in a 24 pin hermetic package. www.fcsi.fujitsu.com
