RFMD single- and dual-band LNAs (New Devices)

Greensboro, NC. RF Micro Devices has introduced two new LNAs for GSM, DCS and PCS handsets. The RF2368 is a single-band LNA for DCS or PCS, while the RF2416 is a dual-band version that covers GSM, DCS or PCS handset applications (see ). The RF2416 offers 1.4 dB noise figure and 15.5 dB of gain in the 950 MHz GSM band. In the 1800 MHz DCS and 1900 MHz PCS bands, the device provides a 1.5 dB noise figure and 17.5 dB of gain. The RF2368 offers similar performance with a 1.6 dB noise figure and 18 dB gain for the DCS band, and 16.5 dB gain in the PCS band. Both devices offer a selectable gain bypass mode with a gain reduction step of 21.5 dB. This feature enables a step reduction in system gain, meeting gain control requirements and lowering system power consumption by reducing the linearity requirements further down the receiver chain. Manufactured using RFMD s GaAs HBT process, both devices operate from a 2.7 V supply and are available in a 1.6 3 mm SOT 8-pin plastic package (RF2368) or 3 3 mm 12-pin leadless plastic package (RF2416). www.rfmd.com
