Vector modulators suit 3G wireless (New Devices)

WIRELESS PRODUCTS Lowell, MA A new vector modulator has been released by M/A-COM. The SA90-0001 is a current-controlled multi-chip module containing GaAs MMIC and silicon technology designed to improve linearity and reduce system costs. The SA90-0001 targets the 1.942.24 GHz band, making it suitable for emerging 3G wireless communications standards. The SA90-0001 also allows the gain to be continuously adjusted over a minimum of 10 dB, while allowing the insertion phase to be adjusted over a full 360 range. This function is accomplished despite the small footprint of the 6 4 mm leadless FQFP-N plastic surface-mount package. www.macom.com
