Fujitsu And Nortel Agree On Receivers (Fiber News)
Nortel Networks and Fujitsu Quantum Devices have agreed joint specifications for 10 Gbit/s receivers containing an avalanche photodiode (APD) and a broadband, low-noise pre-amplifier integrated in a small package with SMP connectors. The agreement will provide two sources for receivers with the same package outline and pin allocation for a common board layout. Volume production is due in January 2002.
