News in brief: Aixtron, ATMI, MetroPhotonics, OMI
Aixtron has appointed Phil Yin as General Manager of Aixtron Inc, the company s US subsidiary. Yin has held a number of positions including president of AMTI Services, a unit that incorporated ATMI s epitaxial supply businesses.
John Parsey, most recently with Global Communication Technology, a Taiwanese foundry company, has joined ATMI as chief technologist of its Epitaxial Services business.
Also at ATMI, Bob Chaney has been appointed executive VP and general manager of ATMI s Materials Lifecycle Solutions division, which includes the company s Services business.
MetroPhotonics retains Orbit IQ
MetroPhotonics, a manufacturer of monolithic photonic integrated circuits, has retained the services of Orbit IQ as its primary sales and marketing channel partner. The strategic partnership will enable MetroPhotonics to significantly strengthen its market presence while continuing to focus on its core competencies, said David Clark, the company s CEO. MetroPhotonics recently began sampling alpha prototypes of its SurePath Monitor to a range of tier 1 customers.
Optical Metrology Innovations (OMI) appoints channel partners
Optical Metrology Innovations today announced the appointment of Lih Yuan (YMG) as its exclusive distributor for Taiwan, Twinson International (YMG) as its exclusive distributor for China, AXIC as its exclusive distributor for North America and Scitech as its exclusive distributor for Korea.
OMI’s products include Omistrain, a tool to measure and diagnose 3-D thermo-mechanical deformation and strain-related reliability issues in electronic and photonic device packages, and Omiprobe, a system using photoreflectance spectroscopy for in-line characterisation of epitaxial wafers. These products will be marketed through these exclusive agents.
