Industry group initiates health and safety survey

The Compound Semiconductor Forum (CS Forum) has launched an environmental, safety and health survey for the compound semiconductor industry.
The CS Forum is a professional network addressing environmental, safety and health (ESH) issues within the compound semiconductor industry. Interested parties are encouraged to participate in the survey by visiting www.seshaonline.org/cs-forum/survey.

The purpose of the survey is to identify industry ESH problems that will become the focus of CS Forum activities going forward. The intent is to organize the CS community to find better solutions to ESH issues. The CS Forum plans to disseminate information using its website and at industry conferences.

The CS Forum is part of the Semiconductor Environmental, Safety and Health Association (SESHA), and operates to provide ESH information and support to the compound semiconductor industry. The Forum seeks to bring OEMs, material suppliers and growers together to focus on ESH issues.

The CS Forum website offers a means to query members on related safety and health issues, and to post notices.

The website has a library of relevant ESH articles, and authors are asked to submit monographs of general interest.

Membership of the CS Forum includes EHS personnel, process and equipment engineers, manufacturing and support equipment suppliers, chemical suppliers, researchers and other parties interested in compound semiconductor EHS issues.

Current officers of the CS Forum include the chairman, Karl Olander of ATMI, the vice-chairman, Brian Johnson of Motorola, and the secretary, Andrew Clark of Honeywell.
