SAES and Aeronex reach patent settlement

SAES and Aeronex have agreed to cease their recent legal wrangling over their respective technologies for ammonia and hydride gas purification.
Aeronex and SAES Getters, and its subsidiary SAES Pure Gas, have reached a global settlement agreement to end their patent litigation concerning methods for ammonia and hydride purification.

According to the settlement agreement each party will stipulate to the dismissal of their respective patent infringement claims and, additionally, SAES will stipulate to the dismissal of its false advertising and unfair competition claims against Aeronex.

SAES originally filed suit against Aeronex charging that Aeronex’s line of ammonia purifiers infringed its U.S. Patent No. 5,716,588, while Aeronex counterclaimed SAES Getters ammonia purifiers infringed its U.S. Patent No. 6,241,955.

“We are pleased with the agreement reached,” commented Massimo della Porta, CEO of SAES Getters Group. “The agreement meets in full with our intellectual property protection strategy, which has always been our goal in the litigation.”

“We feel a cause of concern has been eliminated from the marketplace and Aeronex can now fully focus on its business objectives,” said Jeff Spiegelman, CEO of Aeronex. “We will focus on helping our customers develop critical processes for emerging opportunities.”

Further details about the settlement will be disclosed at a later stage once all of the details have been finalized.
