Michael Cumbo, a former vice president of Coherent, has been appointed as president and chief executive officer (CEO) of BinOptics, a US start-up that manufactures etched-facet lasers.
"I have wanted [for many years] to lead a young high-tech company with the potential for unconstrained growth. BinOptics is just what I was looking for in terms of team dynamics, distinctive technical competencies, innovation, and broad market access," remarked Cumbo.
Current CEO, Alex Behfar, will take the newly created role of chief technology officer.
Jazz appoints new CFOSiGe foundry Jazz Semiconductor has appointed Brent Jensen as its vice president and chief financial officer (CFO).
Jensen's financial career began in the early 1980s with National Semiconductor, and he leaves AMI Semiconductor, where he has held various positions including senior vice president and CFO.
Hurst leaves Anadigics for PeregrinePeregrine Semiconductor, a manufacturer of circuits using silicon-on-insulator technology, has appointed Brian Hurst as vice president of worldwide sales.
Hurst was formerly vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Anadigics, and has also held the position of general manager of sales and marketing for the Americas at National Semiconductor.
