Aviza bets on compounds for soft landing

RF component and LED makers have helped stem the semiconductor processing equipment manufacturer's losses, and are a key part of its ongoing strategy.

Semiconductor tool maker Aviza Technology is backing GaAs companies to help it outperform a 25 percent drop in revenues it predicts for total 2009 industry equipment sales.
