Philips Lumileds 'leads the way in office take-up of LEDs'

The LED-lit Tower 42 by Philips is set to lead the way in the uptake of such lighting solutions among blue chip firms and office buildings, a claim suggests.

Philips Lumileds is behind the first all-light emitting diode (LED) lit office building in the UK - Tower 42 in London - and one organisation has announced it expects more large office building management agencies to adopt LED lighting.

BLT Direct said more blue chip organisations will also take up LED lighting, which will not only improve their corporate responsibility profile but help to reduce carbon emissions in the country.

The LEDs from Philips Lumileds are more durable and last significantly longer than traditional incandescent light bulbs.

Continuing its deployment of LEDs in the UK, Philips Lighting recently revealed that its LUXEON Rebel-based solutions have been installed at a Morrisons petrol station and convenience store, resulting in energy savings of approximately 45 per cent.

"We are delighted that LUXEON Rebel LEDs are enabling luminaires that deliver energy and maintenance savings without compromising the lighting solution, effectiveness or customers experience," said Rick Hamburger, director of segment marketing at Philips Lumileds.ADNFCR-2855-ID-19607286-ADNFCR
