RF Micro Devices 'supports advanced functionality for aerospace and defence'
A new report by Fast Market Research has praised RF Micro Devices for enabling enhanced connectivity and worldwide mobility.
RF Micro Devices - which designs and manufactures high-performance compound semiconductors and radio frequency components - enables worldwide mobility, according to a new report.
A new report by Fast Market Research noted that RF Micro Devices also provides enhanced connectivity and support advanced functionality for the aerospace and defence, cellular handsets, wireless local area network and wireless infrastructure networks.
During the financial year ended March 2009, the firm recorded revenues of $886.5 million (£549 million), although this marked a 7.3 per cent fall over 2008.
RF Micro Devices previously revealed a net profit of $5.7 million in 2008. Its compound semiconductor and radio frequency components are also widely used in the cable television and broadband markets.
Another development last year saw RF Micro Devices announce it had passed 25 million units in shipments of its RF71xx family of 2G dual-band and quad-band transmit modules.
Commenting on the news, Eric Creviston, president of RF Micro Device's cellular products group, said "the product family continues to enjoy robust design activity across handset manufacturers and global platform providers as we continue to develop specific product derivatives".
