Atlumin & MCP Join Forces To Enable Faster Production Of Specialty Materials

Expansion of development capability and manufacturing capacity are the primary goals the integration

Atlumin, a global provider of materials used in renewable energy such as solar modules and MCP, a major supplier of advanced materials primarily made from indium, gallium, selenium and tellurium have integrated to form Atlumin Energy.

The new group will focus on manufacturing materials including those found in the compound semiconductor industry and will continue with the advanced recycling and reclaim programs that both MCP and Atlumin are credited with.

The companies expect the integrated operations to be leaner and faster and provide customers with a more complete and streamlined solution.

Atlumin will now operate under the new name while the MCP brand name will be retained for existing products. Certain products and services will be manufactured at both Atlumin / MCP UK and Sunnyvale, California facilities.

Laurent Raskin, CEO of MCP Group SA commented, "We believe this is a powerful strategic combination. Adding Atlumin leadership and supporting additional investment in Wellingborough accelerates and broadens the MCP Wellingborough value proposition."

“By leveraging the diversified operations and employee skill sets of both organizations, this combined company is well positioned in a marketplace full of opportunities. Under the leadership of Gregory Phipps, we are confident the integration of our businesses will create tremendous value for our customers and provide opportunities for our employees.

Gregory Phipps, President of Atlumin remarked, "through this integration, we're creating a world-class leader in specialty materials and metals. By combining MCP Wellingborough's lean, high volume manufacturing platform with Atlumin's innovative development and attentive account teams, the net result will be best-in-class manufacturing on a global basis. The complementary synergies will substantially increase our business scale and expand our customer base. This is another step in our strategy to compress the material supply chain and offer increased system level efficiency to our customers, thereby helping them to be more competitive."
