Prices for Solar PV panels drop while LED lighting jumps

High Brightness LED prices jump 10% in last week while Solar PV Sales Activity drops by 9% for the same period say weSRCH.com

weSRCH’s weekly analysis of Solar PV panel and LED pricing data are worldwide and measured across various retail spot markets. It is based on a weighting of weekly customer visits, inquiries, and interest at various sales outlets and aims to give worldwide trends in pricing,

weSRCH’s Solar PV Sales Activity Index fell back to 162 from 172 a week ago. The growth was -9% versus +12% a week ago. It was up 60% from the last quarter. Solar PV Panel Prices slipped -4¢/Wp.



 

Median photovoltaic (PV) panel prices averaged $3.43 per Watt and prices are 28% lower than a year ago and 9% less than the last quarter. The 4-week rolling average trend is down.

 



 

High Brightness LED prices jumped 10%. Average HBLED prices were $177 per Klm, an increase from $161 in the previous week. The standard deviation was $259 and the 4 week rolling average was $167 per Klm.
