Advantech Wireless receives over $3m in military orders for GaN based PAs

Defence industry adopts technology for Satcom On The Move and Flyaway terminals

Advantech Wireless, a privately-held Canadian manufacturer of satellite, RF equipment and microwave systems, has announced that it has received over $3million in orders from defence organisations to provide GaN based solid state power amplifiers (SSPA) for Satcom-On-The-Move (SOTM) solutions and Flyaway terminals.

The units will be WGS certified in Ka-Band and X-Band.

Advantech Wireless' says its series of GaN-based SSPAs and block upconverters is leading the way with ground breaking performance and pioneering technology.

"We understand the challenges that government and military leaders face and our technologies empower them to communicate quickly, reliably and securely," stated Cristi Damian, VP Business Development at Advantech Wireless.  "Defence organisations were among the first to adopt GaN technology, which in exchange allows higher power and higher traffic rates for mission critical  operations."
