Violumas adds more UVA and UVB wavelengths to range

News
VioBeam-1X1 series now includes 405nm, 395nm, 385nm, 375nm, 365nm, 340nm, and 325nm wavelengths

Silicon Valley-based UV LED specialist Violumas has announced additional UVA and UVB wavelengths to its VioBeam-1X1 series portfolio.

Featuring 10° fused silica optics combined with a high-power UV LED, the product series now includes 405nm, 395nm, 385nm, 375nm, 365nm, 340nm, and 325nm wavelengths. These new LEDs are offered alongside the previously released 255nm, 265nm, 275nm, 295nm, and 310nm wavelengths.

The VioBeam-1X1 delivers a precise, ultra-narrow beam, making it an suitable solution for collimation, focused illumination, fibre coupling, and far-field illumination. according to the company.

Compared to a typical LED’s natural beam angle of 135°, the VioBeam-1X1’s 10° beam achieves highly focused UV intensities at extended distances, allowing for the reduction of LEDs in high-dosage systems. A single VioBeam-1X1 265nm LED can reach an intensity level of 66.5mW/cm2 at 30cm, a similar level achieved by a high density 265nm LED array of 49 LEDs.

With a total of 12 UVA/UVB/UVC wavelength options spanning the entire UV spectrum, the VioBeam-1X1 series is suitable for UV applications such as life sciences, water disinfection, curing, spectroscopy, environmental monitoring, air purification, research, and more. By providing additional UVA wavelengths, Violumas aims to broaden the opportunities for new developments in ultraviolet applications.
