Aixtron Q3 exceeds expectations
Aixtron has determined preliminary results for Q3 2026 with order intake, operating result (EBIT) and EBIT margin significantly exceeding current market expectations.
Preliminary Q3 2026 order intake amounted to approximately €275 million, vs. €124.0 million in the prior-year quarter. This was significantly above the median analyst estimate of €214.6 million based on the company's current consensus, and also well above the €214.5 million reported in Q2 2026.
Preliminary revenue in Q3 2026 amounted to approximately €184 million (Q3 2025: €119.6 million) well within the forecast range for the quarter of €180 million plus or minus €20 million.
Preliminary operating profitability exceeded market expectations, in particular due to a favourable product mix. Q3 2026 gross profit reached approximately €87 million, corresponding to a gross margin of approximately 48 percent (Q3 2025: €46.4 million; 39 percent). Preliminary operating result (EBIT) amounted to approximately €57 million, with an EBIT margin of approximately 31 percent (Q3 2025: €15.4 million; 13 percent).
The guidance for fiscal year 2026 remains unchanged.
“Our order intake continues to be driven by strong demand for equipment for laser applications in AI data centre communications. At the same time, a favorable product mix contributed to profitability significantly above market expectations. The high order intake clearly strengthens our business prospects for 2027,” says Felix Grawert, CEO of Aixtron.
The full quarterly group statement for the third quarter of 2026, including the results for the first nine months of 2026, will be published as scheduled on October 29, 2026.
