Crystal Matrix facility in Gujarat will manufacture GaN-based mini/micro-LED display modules

The Indian government has approved support for Crystal Matrix's $336 million project to build an LED display fab in Gujarat, producing 6-inch GaN microLED and miniLED wafers for mini-LED and micro-LED displays.

The integrated compound semiconductor fabrication and ATMP (Assembly, Testing, Marking, and Packaging) unit at Dholera will be country’s first commercial facility of its kind.

Annual production capacity is expected to be 72,000 square metres of display panels with 24,000 sets of RGB wafers. Products will cater to applications such as smart TVs, smartphones, in-car displays, smart wearables, and extended reality (XR) devices.
