Signs distribution agreement with Spain-based power specialist Ibérica Semiconductores de Potencia

American SiC company SemiQ has announced a distribution agreement with Ibérica Semiconductores de Potencia, a Spanish-headquartered specialist in power electronics.

The partnership expands SemiQ’s European reach for its range of SiC MOSFETs and Schottky diodes. These are noted for ruggedness and reliability in demanding environments, which integrates well into Ibérica’s specialised focus on renewables, transport, and industrial applications.

Under the deal, Ibérica will have access to SemiQ’s complete portfolio of modules, discrete and bare-die products, and will provide these with application and design support to power system developers across the entire continent.

“Ibérica is a leading player in the European power space and will play a key role in expanding our reach and support within the region,” said said Timothy Han, President at SemiQ . “Their experience of working across the power electronics space is second to none, and this means our customers can benefit from exceptional support when implementing systems based on SemiQ’s high-performance, high-reliability silicon carbide technologies.”

"SiC'sreliability and efficiency are essential if Europe is to continue to electrify its industrial and transport systems, as well as to roll out solar, wind and other renewable infrastructure to meet net-zero requirements,” said Ignacio Salido de Miguel, managing director at Iberica. “Adding SemiQ’s MOSFETs and modules can only help our customers accelerate innovation in these vital high-power markets.”
