Space Forge assessed 'awardable' for DARPA marketplace
Space Forge, a company pioneering semiconductor manufacturing in space, has announced that its 'Microgravity Semiconductor Manufacturing: Enabling Extreme Performance Electronics' solution has achieved 'Awardable' status through the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Expedited Research Innovation System (ERIS) Marketplace.
Space Forge's solution provides a pathway to manufacturing advanced semiconductor materials in the microgravity environment, with a focus on enabling ultra-wide-bandgap semiconductors with the potential to support applications ranging from RF and power electronics through to quantum technologies.
"Our Awardable status is an important milestone as we work to bring the potential of microgravity semiconductor manufacturing to US government customers," said Atul Kumar, VP of Semiconductors, Space Forge US. "We're excited to engage with stakeholders across the defence and national security community and explore how advanced semiconductor materials manufactured in space could enable the next generation of extreme-performance electronics."
