Infinitesima strengthens international expansion

UK metrology firm appoints Jonathan Bryon, Oxford Instruments' former business development director, in new role of VP of corporate affairs

Infinitesima, a UK metrology company, has appointed Jonathan Bryon (pictured above) as VP of corporate affairs, creating a new senior role to strengthen the company’s international operations and support its continued growth.

Bryon brings more than 25 years of leadership experience, most recently as business development director at Oxford Instruments, where he built and led regional organisations across Korea, Taiwan, ASEAN and Oceania.

He also established operating entities in Korea and Australia, served on the Oxford Instruments management Board, and led UK government affairs and export-control engagement, working with ministers, senior civil servants and industry bodies.

In his new role, Jonathan will lead four key areas: investor relations, particularly with Asia-based investors; UK government and industry relations; trade compliance as export controls on semiconductor equipment evolve; and the establishment and administration of Infinitesima’s legal entities across Asia.

Based in Taiwan, he will work across the region and the UK, strengthening relationships with investors, government and industry stakeholders while supporting the development of the company's regional operations.

The appointment reflects Infinitesima’s growing international ambitions and the importance of establishing the business infrastructure to support them. Bringing these responsibilities under dedicated senior leadership will help the company strengthen its presence in key markets and navigate an increasingly complex international operating environment.

Peter Jenkins, CEO, Infinitesima, said: “Jonathan joins us at a pivotal point in Infinitesima's development. He brings a rare combination of international leadership, deep experience of Asian markets and an understanding of the wider regulatory and political environment in which our industry operates. This will be invaluable as we strengthen our regional presence and build the capabilities needed to support our long-term growth.”

Bryon said: “Asia is at the heart of the global semiconductor industry, and Infinitesima has already built strong relationships across the region. I’m looking forward to working with the team to build on those foundations, deepen our engagement with investors, government and industry partners, and support the company’s continued development.”

infinitesima's tools today are targeted at high-volume 300mm manufacturing (supporting customers including SK hynix, and involving collaborations with Imec and ASML) but a spokeperson for Infinitesima told Compound Semiconductor in August 2026 that the technology could equally be applied to compound semiconductors. "The underlying technology and applications would be the same for compound semiconductors. If there is sufficient demand from the compound semiconductor market, the tool can be adapted to accommodate different wafer sizes without changing the core technology."
