EPC's Alex Lidow Inducted into ISPSD Hall of Fame

CEO and co-founder awarded for contribution to advancing power semiconductor technology
Efficient Power Conversion's CEO and co-founder Alex Lidow has been inducted into the IEEE International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices and ICs (ISPSD) Hall of Fame 2019.
The award is for Lidow's contribution to advancing power semiconductor technology and sustaining the success of ISPSD. The award was announced on May 20th, 2019 at 31st IEEE ISPSD 2019 at the Marriott Parkview Hotel, Shanghai, China.
On thanking the ISPSD committee regarding his induction, Lidow said: “This is a great honour. I share this honour with Tom Herman, with whom I undertook the foundational work on the power MOSFET, and with my co-founders at EPC, Joe Cao and Bob Beach, who had the courage to join me on our mission to develop GaN power devices to crush silicon. I look forward to continue working with our customers who are innovating new designs with GaN.”
John Shen, advisory committee chair said, “We are very pleased to have Alex inducted into the Hall of Fame this year. Contributions to our semiconductor industry have been most important in furthering our betterment of the whole world, as well as changing the way we live. We will continue to achieve further contributions, only through our inductees’ unremitting efforts in innovating and contributing to power semiconductor technology, which is indispensable in our daily lives.”
Secure Your Hydrogen Supply
A study supply of high-purity hydrogen is critical to semiconductor fabrication. Supply chain interruptions are challenging manufacturers, leading to production slowdowns and stoppages. On-site hydrogen generation offers a scalable alternative for new and existing fabs, freeing the operator from dependence on delivered gas.Plant managers understand the critical role that hydrogen plays in semiconductor fabrication. That important job includes crystal growth, carrier gas, wafer annealing, and in the emerging Extreme UV Lithography (EUV) that will enable new generations of devices. As the vast need for semiconductors grows across all sectors of world economies, so does the need for high-purity hydrogen.
