Company selected as one of the top 25 most innovative start-ups

SweGaN AB, a manufacturer of custom-made GaN-on-SiC epitaxial wafers based on a unique epitaxial growth technology for RF and power components and devices, has been selected from among 140 promising Nordic and Baltic companies in the 9th Nordic Cleantech Open competition to the top 25 most innovative start-ups and ready-to-scale companies.

The Nordic Cleantech Open competition serves as an observation tower for the cleantech innovation trends coming to support the transition to a low carbon reality.

Selection of the top 25 contenders was conducted by an international jury of 50 members from venture capital firms, multinational companies, utility sector, public investors and more to analyse 140 applicants/contenders, based on level of innovation, market potential and ability of the team to execute. According to Nordic Cleantech Open, the 25 companies selected to participate in the next phases bring a wide variety of solutions gaining momentum and attention in the cleantech sector.

“We are very excited to be selected to the top 25 companies invited to continue to the next phase of the Nordic Cleantech Open," says Olof Kordina, CEO, SweGaN. SweGaN’s vision and mantra is cultivating positive environmental impact and reducing energy consumption through high performance, competitively priced materials.”

”The SweGaN team is devoted to developing and producing materials that enable manufacturers to create end-products that will contribute to a cleaner future for the planet and future generations. We are proud to commit to a focus on excellence within cleantech for our customers.”

In the next steps, the Top 25 companies will meet the Nordic Cleantech Open jury in Trolleholm, Sweden, March 28th-29th, where they will be invited to pitch and present their case, participate in one-to-one meetings and join additional networking activities. The Top 10 selected companies will then move into the final phase together with Cleantech Scandinavia’s main event: Clean Energy Capital Day, May 12th13th, Lund, Sweden.
