Osram Helps JMGO Boost Projector Brightness
Ostar LEDs deliver a brightness of up to 2,400 ANSI lumen in J10 projector, 20 percent more than the previous generation
In October 2020, Shenzhen Holatek Co., Ltd. (JMGO), a Chinese maker of projectors, launched its new-generation J10 flagship projector. By using Osram's Ostar Projection Power family of LEDs as the primary light source, the projector delivered a brightness of up to 2,400 ANSI lumens.
Smart LED projectors have become increasingly popular over the years, especially among viewers in their homes. Expectations for projectors have shifted from demand for larger screens and lower prices to higher brightness and definition.
The J10 projector is JMGO's flagship product is equipped with a 0.47 inch DMD chip and delivers full HD resolution. It features a brightness of 2,400 ANSI lumens, which is 20 percent more than the previous generation, creating a new benchmark in the industry. Moreover, its top-grade intelligent interaction and superior sound effects present cinema-level experience at home, even during the day without closing curtains.

With 12 new products in the Ostar Projection Power family, Osram has made several technical advancements, while still providing the traditional advantages of LED light sources. The products with the highest power level include six chips of the same colour in each LED package, helping them achieve outstanding brightness levels. This allows LED-based projectors to reach higher brightness values without increasing bulb volume, while still maintaining the characteristics of purer LED colour and higher saturation.
Compared with other products of the same power consumption, Osram Ostar Projection Power family requires lower working current, a less complex LED driver and less contact between components, making it easier for system designers to optimise their products. With improved packaging technology, this series of LEDs can be directly coupled with the heat sink without any additional insulation. The mechanical part of new products inherits the basic framework of the previous generation, an approach that ensures customers can quickly and conveniently exchange products in their existing projector system at a lower cost.
