Onsemi to show intelligent power at APEC 2023

News

Highlights include a power simulator for SiC

Onsemi will show the company’s latest solutions at the Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC) in Orlando, March 19-23. These will include demos for the industrial and automotive markets, including an area dedicated to the Onsemi EliteSiC family, complete with an EV charging station.

The company will also demo the latest industrial power supply and charging solutions: a 6.6/11 kW PFC inverter, an ultra-high density 240 W USB PD 3.1 solution and a 600 W battery charger. Visitors will also be able to see the an autonomous mobile robot with a collaborative robot (cobot) arm.

Onsemi will introduce and demo a new simulator for the EliteSiC family. The online tool allows engineers to virtually test and validate EliteSiC products through a library of customisable circuit technologies. When the simulator is used with advanced PLECS models, engineers can gather insights into the application at an early stage of the design cycle without relying on hardware fabrication and testing.

APEC attendees can learn more about the tool in two presentations: ‘Online SiC System Level Simulator Driven by Advanced PLECS Models’, by Didier Balocco (March 21, 3:45-4:15 pm); and 'A Virtual Prototyping System for SiC Power Modules’, by James Victory (March 23, 11:30-1:30 pm).

Alongside the simulator, Onsemi will announce a new series of 1200V Trench Field Stop VII (FS7) IGBTs.
