Infineon looks to a greener future at PCIM

News

Company will show highlights of wide bandage portfolio for a range of applications

At PCIM Europe 2023 from 9-11 May, in Nuremberg, Germany, Infineon will show how its latest solutions in power semiconductors and wide bandgap technologies can drive a greener future.

Under the motto 'Driving decarbonisation and digitalisation. Together', the company will offer demonstrations, TechTalks, and the opportunity to discuss design challenges with experts. Visitors can also register for the Infineon's virtual platform, which will be available around the clock from 27 April onwards.

Infineon will be showing highlights of its wide bandgap (WBG) portfolio including CoolGaN based USB-C adapters and chargers, as well as solutions for e-mobility with CoolGaN SG HEMTs, EiceDRIVER gate driver ICs and XENSIV sensors. New chip technologies including HybridPACK Drive CoolSiC G2 simplify automotive electrification, and packaging innovations for Si, SiC and GaN power technologies with topside cooling (TSC) enable pushing the limits of efficiency and power density in high-performance industrial and automotive applications.

Also on show will be energy transition technologies with power semiconductors that improve the efficiency and miniaturisation of wind and photovoltaic plants. In addition, Infineon experts will present Infineon's product offering for sustainable hydrogen technologies – such as the broad IGBT and thyristor portfolio for hydrogen electrolysis.

Highlights of the company's EV charging solutions include a modular 50 kW CoolSiC reference design for fast DC charging systems for electric vehicles. In addition to Infineon’s range of traction inverters, charging solutions such as the first wall-mounted DC charger, the alpitronic HYC50 bi-directional 50 kW charging station, will also be presented at the PCIM booth.

The company will also show devices for energy efficient industrial automation, and smart home & smart building.

Infineon will present nine talks covering many topics including solid-state circuit breakers, energy storage systems, EV charging, heat pumps, hydrogen production, solar and traction inverters as well as CoolSiC and CoolGaN solutions. In addition, Infineon experts will participate in the PCIM conference and poster sessions.
