Military satellite terminal customer places large follow up order for 25W X-Band GaN Block Up Converters

Advantech Wireless Technologies has received a large follow up order for its 25W X-Band GaN technology based Block Up Converters (BUCs) for military satellite terminals.

"Based on the results they have experienced with the same product from a previous order, an existing customer has placed a further order that will multiply their business with us", said Randy Dewey, president and CEO of Baylin Technoloies, Advantech's parent company.

The 25W GaN X-band BUCs are WGS certified and designed for harsh environments, Satcom on the Move (SOTM) and man-pack terminal deployments.

"These advanced systems are extremely versatile and specially designed for outdoor operation," explained Cristi Damian, VP business development at Advantech. "Our customers particularly appreciate the high linearity combined with small size and low energy consumption."

The 25W X-Band GaN BUCs are integrated units, completed with power supply, phase-locked oscillator, mixer, filter and cooling mechanism weighing less than 2.5kg.
