Riber posts positive half year

News
Order book at end-June 2024 up 18 percent to €36M

MBE firm Riber is reporting its revenues for the first half of 2024, with revenues of €13.7M, up 13 percent from the first half of 2023.

Systems revenues totalled €9.4M, up 10 percent from the previous year. This growth includes the delivery of three machines, compared with four in the first half of 2023.

Revenues for services and accessories came to €4.3M, up 19 percent compared with a favourable comparison base.

The breakdown of Riber’s half-year revenues at June 30, 2024 was Europe (28 percent), Asia (67 percent) and North America (5 percent).

In terms of orders, against a backdrop of growth in the MBE market, the first half of 2024 was marked by a sharp rise in order intake, with eight systems ordered during this period, reflecting the strength of the compound semiconductor market for both research and industrial production.

In this context, the systems order book is up 27 percent to €30.2M based on 12 machines, including seven production machines.

The services and accessories order book, according to Riber, is down 14 percent to €5.8M, as a result of a high level of invoicing in the first half of 2024.

The total order book at June 30, 2024 came to €36.0M, up 18 percent compared to June 30, 2023.

Outlook

Given the current orders scheduled for delivery in 2024 and the upcoming opportunities for its systems, services and accessories, Riber expects further growth in revenues and earnings for the full year.

Secure Your Hydrogen Supply

A study supply of high-purity hydrogen is critical to semiconductor fabrication. Supply chain interruptions are challenging manufacturers, leading to production slowdowns and stoppages. On-site hydrogen generation offers a scalable alternative for new and existing fabs, freeing the operator from dependence on delivered gas.

Plant managers understand the critical role that hydrogen plays in semiconductor fabrication. That important job includes crystal growth, carrier gas, wafer annealing, and in the emerging Extreme UV Lithography (EUV) that will enable new generations of devices. As the vast need for semiconductors grows across all sectors of world economies, so does the need for high-purity hydrogen.

Take control with Nel on-site hydrogen generation.
