Riber seals €1 million order for Selenium evaporators
Semiconductor equipment manufacturer Riber has signed a contract for more than €1 million with Singulus Technologies, Germany, a developer of CIGS solar technology.
Riber will provide Singulus Technologies with the Jet 40K Selenium, a linear evaporator designed to evaporate material alongside a surface.
Selenium is one of the key element for making CIGS thin-film solar cells, which are made using large roll-to-roll or inline machines that deposit materials onto glass or substrate film moving at a high speed above the evaporators.
These Jet 40K Selenium evaporators will be installed on several evaporation machines of Singulus Technologies that will equip a new plant in China aimed at producing hundreds of MW of CIGS solar panel per year.
This contract results from the successful operation of Jet 40K Selenium evaporators that are used since several years to produce CIGS thin-films in Germany and the USA, and which are providing high quality and high thickness uniformity across large area of substrate film at high throughput.
