Custom MMIC to present on Ka-Band Pulsed GaN Power Amplifier

CTO Paul Blount to speak at 2016 IEEE Compound Semiconductor IC Symposium

Custom MMIC's president and CTO Paul Blount will be presenting at the 2016 IEEE Compound Semiconductor IC Symposium (CSICS) on October 26th with a talk entitled, "˜A High Efficiency, Ka-Band Pulsed Gallium Nitride Power Amplifier for Radar Applications.'

Paul Blount founded Custom MMIC in 2006 and has served as its president and CTO since its inception. He has been instrumental in the creation of six MMIC product lines - amplifiers, switches, mixers, attenuators, phase shifters, and multipliers. In 2011, he was awarded the Army Achievement Award for his work in lowering the power dissipation of low noise amplifiers in phased array systems by an order of magnitude.

During his presentation, Blount will discuss the GaN process overview, circuit design, as well as measured results and production test data of a 6 watt, 35 GHz power amplifier in Room 3 of the Doubletree by Hilton in Austin, Texas at 4:10 p.m.

From its origins in 1978 as an international gathering for distinguished experts to present their latest results in GaAs IC technology and Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit design, the CSICS symposium now embraces GaN, InP, SiGe, nanoscale CMOS, and many other emerging technologies.
