Infineon to show radar chips at CES 2017

77GHz SiGe technology behind automated driving to be featured at consumer electronics exhibition

Infineon will be showing some of the semiconductors behind a range of emerging consumer technologies at the Consumer Electronics Show (January 5-8, 2017, in Las Vegas), including its 77GHz SiGe MMIC RASIC radar chips .

The company will be demonstrating how automated driving is becoming a reality thanks to technologies such as 77GHz radar chips and lidar, 3D-cameras for driver monitoring and secure software updates over the air (SOTA).

In the autonomous vehicle, which the automobile industry expects to be available from around 2020, at least ten radar systems may be installed. Together with camera, laser and ultrasonic systems, they form a safety cocoon around the vehicle and are the key technology for autonomous driving.
