Skyworks introduces SOI SPDT switch

5 GHz single pole, double throw switch targets a wide range of RF applications

Skyworks has unveiled the SKYA21003, a new silicon-on insulator (SOI) single pole, double throw (SPDT) switch that is targeted for automotive, LTE cellular and general purpose RF applications.

This next-generation product is AEC-Q100 Grade 2 Qualified with guaranteed RF performance across extended temperature limits, making it suitablefor LTE cellular telematics modems, remote keyless entry devices, infotainment systems, automated toll transponders, garage door openers, GPS/navigation platforms, and other wireless control solutions.

The advanced SOI process technology is said to ensure excellent RF performance without compromising ESD.  This solution features a wide frequency range (0.1 to 6 GHz), is capable of supporting popular ISM Bands, 5 GHz Wi-Fi, as well as future cellular bands, and has excellent power handling capability (P1 dB = 38 dBm), meeting the need for higher power carrier LTE aggregation telematics designs.

The SKYA21003 has high-linearity performance and low insertion loss with an operating temperature range from -40 to +105degC, allowing for operation in challenging automotive operating environments.  It is available in a compact quad flat no-lead (QFN) 2 x 2 x 0.55 mm package.
